On a beautiful sunny morning, our residents from Penang Retirement Resort (PRR) set out for a delightful countryside trip — first to the lush UNIQ Fruits Farm in Gurun, followed by a scenic retreat to the highlands of Gunung Jerai.
The adventure began with a warm welcome at UNIQ Fruits Farm, where rows of tropical fruit trees greeted our group. Residents enjoyed a refreshing tasting session featuring local favourites such as durian, rambutan, cempedak, mangosteen, and even a unique treat — Malaysia-grown grapes. Many were pleasantly surprised by the sweetness of the grapes and the overall variety of fresh fruits available.
After a fruity start, the group made their way up to the cool and tranquil heights of Gunung Jerai. As the coach climbed the winding road, everyone was captivated by the sweeping views of the coastline and rolling hills below. At the top, the residents enjoyed the crisp mountain air, lush gardens, and serene atmosphere — a perfect contrast to the warmth of the fruit farm earlier in the day.
The cool breeze and lush greenery provided a perfect setting to unwind, connect with friends, and soak in the serene atmosphere.
This meaningful day trip offered a wonderful mix of flavour, fresh air, and fellowship — a reminder that moments of joy and discovery are always within reach.
