At Penang Retirement Resort (PRR), we believe that new experiences and shared adventures are part of joyful ageing — and our recent one-day trip to Taiping was a perfect example.

The journey began early in the morning, as our residents and team set off in great spirits. The first stop? A cosy local breakfast spot in Taiping, where everyone enjoyed traditional Malaysian favourites — a comforting start to the day and a chance to soak in the charm of this historical town.

Next, we visited the Taiping Zoo, one of the oldest and most beautiful zoos in the country. Residents strolled through shaded walkways, encountering a variety of animals in a lush, natural setting. The laughter, curiosity, and wonder shared during the visit made it a highlight for many.

Before leaving Taiping, we stopped by local stalls and shops to purchase local products — from handmade snacks to fresh produce and nostalgic treats. These little souvenirs brought smiles and memories of times gone by.

Our final stop was the famous Kuala Sepetang, a fishing village known for its seafood. We sat down to a delicious lunch by the water, enjoying the breeze and fresh catch of the day while reflecting on the lovely experiences of the trip.
It was a day of discovery, friendship, and laughter — a reminder that no matter the age, the joy of travelling and connecting with others never fades.
Here’s to more wonderful journeys ahead with the PRR family!
